October 13 ------ BINI makes a bold bid for global recognition, submitting three entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

Star Music announced the submissions on October 12, expressing its support for the Nation’s Girl Group as they continue to bring Filipino music to a wider audience. “Let's keep supporting BINI, and Filipino music and talent as we take our step to the global stage,” their announcement wrote.

Among the entries is BINI’s “Unang Kilig,” submitted for consideration in the newly introduced Best Asian Pop Music Performance category. Set to debut at the 69th Grammy Awards, the category recognizes eligible recordings in Asian pop music. The group’s song “A Parallel World" from the DreamWork's Animation film Forgotten Island was also submitted for consideration in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.

Completing the three submissions is BINI’s bid for Best New Artist. According to the Recording Academy, the award "recognizes an artist whose eligibility-period release(s) achieved a breakthrough into the public's consciousness and notably impacted the musical landscape."

The announcement prompted excitement among Filipinos, who expressed their hopes of seeing the Nation's Girl Group receive recognition from the Recording Academy. “BINI”! You deserve to win this. Bias aside, I genuinely want you to win or at least get nominated. Manifesting this for you!” one netizen wrote on X. “Filipinos have always been known for our incredible singing talent, and I hope the world gets to recognize that through BINI! Manifesting these Grammy nominations for our girls. Imagine how huge this would be not just for BINI, but for Filipino music as a whole. LET’S GO, BINI!,” another posted. While BINI has submitted entries for consideration, these are not yet official Grammy nominations.

According to the Grammys official website, entries submitted during the Online Entry Process are individually reviewed to determine their eligibility before moving through the voting process. The Recording Academy notes that it can receive more than 20,000 eligible entries during a single Grammy season. “Once we receive submissions, each entry is individually and manually vetted by a member of the Recording Academy's Awards staff to determine its eligibility,” the Recording Academy explained.

Since the submission period already ended last August, the Recording Academy’s Voting Members will now vote on the eligible submissions across two Grammy voting rounds. First Round Voting, which determines the nominees for the categories at the annual Grammy Awards, will take place from October 12 to 22. The official nominees for the 2027 Grammys will then be announced on November 16. Meanwhile, Final Round Voting will determine the Grammy winners and is scheduled from December 10, 2026, to January 7, 2027. The 2027 Grammy Awards will take place on February 7 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
