August 8 ------ The Nation’s Girl Group BINI is once again set to thrill fans with the highly anticipated music video of their tour single “Shagidi,” premiering Friday, August 8, at 8 p.m. on their official YouTube channel.

Fresh off their world tour, the girls wasted no time and headed straight to Valenzuela City to shoot the music video at a local skate park. Despite a tight schedule and limited rest, they powered through the challenges to deliver a visual treat for their ever-supportive fandom, Blooms.

Earlier Thursday, 88 lucky Blooms were invited to an exclusive preview screening of the video. a moment that even the members were excited to experience for the first time. “We’re so excited para sa preview po talaga,” shared Maloi. “Kasi siyempre, mapapanood namin ito with our Blooms. At hindi pa rin namin siya napapanood. So, it’s gonna be exciting. Hindi namin alam kung ano ’yung mga materials na na-shoot that day. Wala kami idea ano ’yung editing, ano ’yung outcome talaga. So, excited and with the Blooms pa talaga. Sobrang na-look forward talaga namin today. And bukas na siya ma-release sa public. So, I hope mapanood siya ng iba pang Blooms at ng iba pang mga listeners and watchers ng BINI.”

Timed perfectly with the country’s Buwan ng Wika celebration this August, the girls are hopeful that “Shagidi” will evoke Filipino pride in listeners around the world. “Actually, the first phrase that came into my mind is a sense of pride,” said Jhoanna. “Of course, the release was perfect. We just want to feel from ng local and foreign audiences na, ‘Uy, Philippines!’ Song natin ’to!’ So hopefully, suportahan din ’to ng mga kapwa-Pinoy natin. Maging proud sila na nabigyan natin ng flavor ’tong Filipino game na ’to. Traditional Filipino game.”

But the music video didn’t come together without a few bumps along the way. The shoot was squeezed into a single day, right after the group’s demanding tour. “May challenge po siya kasi ginawa namin ’yung shoot na ’yun right after our tour po,” recalled Colet. “May ilan na kaming rest days and then shinoot namin ’yun. And then isang araw lang po siya. So siniksik namin siya ng isang araw. And sa Valenzuela po ’yun, sa skate park. So may mga tao, may daanan siya ng mga sasakyan. So nahirapan kami paano namin siya itago na hindi makikita nag-shoot kami.”

Following a well-earned three-week break, the group returned to work energized and ready to reconnect with their fans. Each member took time off in their own way, some traveling, others spending quality time at home. “Yes, so lahat po kami talaga. Nag-ibang bansa, uuwi sa province namin, met with our friends, family,” said Sheena. “Parang super nag-enjoy lang kami. We rested din. Hindi naman kami puro gala.”

For Aiah, the break was especially adventurous. “Naka-tatlo po (country) ako pero kung mas maraming time nakarami pa po ako. I went to Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Vietnam. I still wanna do more travels in the future. Masaya siya.”

Still, the girls didn’t forget to give back. Sheena spent time volunteering at Pawssion Project, helping rescued animals, while Stacey and Jhoanna extended support to communities affected by recent storms and flooding. “It was for pets. Mainly dogs and cats. Mga rescued, and I volunteered to do some ’yung mga ginagawa talaga, ’yung pinapakain, ’yung nag-prep,” Sheena shared. “And they were so cute. And syempre, as a soft-hearted girly, naiiyak ako, but deep inside lang kasi ang dami. Blooms, thank you, Blooms pala for coming! And oh my gosh, girls, fun fact that day, merong asong lumabas sa basurahan. Puppy siya. So that day, ’yung day 1 na na-rescue siya. I named her Mamay. Apelyido niya Poknat kasi may poknat siya.”

As their popularity continues to grow, the members are also learning how to handle life in the public eye with grace and self-awareness. “Aside from keeping ourselves grounded, I think we just look at each other as normal people. So that’s why we don’t really overthink about it,” said Mikha. “Pero ’yun nga, we realized that we technically aren’t normal people to some people. And so their perspectives are different when it comes to us. So I guess now we have to be more careful. And it makes us more conscious, aware. And like, takot na kami na mag-open up agad sa mga tao or something like that?” “Conscious kami pero hindi namin tinatanggal kung sino talaga kami,” added Jhoanna. “Kasi ayaw naman namin baguhin ’yung sarili namin based sa standards na binibigay ng mga tao sa amin. Everyone naman is entitled to their own opinion, and hindi namin ma-please ang mga tao. Basta gagalingan namin sa craft namin.”
