October 30 ------ Bimby Aquino revealed that he is open to entering politics in the future and following in the footsteps of some of his relatives who led the nation in the past. In an interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, the celebrity son became candid as he explained the reasoning for his decision to enter public service in the future.

Bimby’s relatives have been in politics–– his grandmother, Corazon Aquino, and his uncle, Benigno Aquino III, have served as presidents of the Philippines while his uncle, Bam Aquino, is currently serving as a senator.

“I have to be honest, a big part of my heart is really leaning towards public service… Mom has always taught me–– and everyone in our family–– it’s a very big sacrifice also,” Bimby admitted. The celebrity son added that it’s not a decision that he took lightly, as he knows the effects of entering politics — not just personally but on the constituents that he would be leading. “You really have to think about it carefully because it’s not just you–– it’s a very big responsibility because you hold the keys to everyone,” he explained.

He then shared how he wants to start from the ground and work his way up in the political scene–– following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Ninoy Aquino, who served as the youngest vice governor to be elected during his time. “I prefer to start local. Iba talaga ang boots on the ground,” he added.

Bimby was then asked by Boy if he could be the President someday, which he confidently answered. “Can you be the President of the Republic of the Philippines?” Boy asked Bimby. “Absolutely,” he said.

In the same interview, Bimby was asked how it’s like being Kris Aquino’s son and what he admires the most about his mother. “It’s the only life I’ve ever known, eh, and it’s a life that I’d like to think is a very blessed life because I got to come out of the person that I love most. No matter what she accomplished, no matter what she did during her professional career, the thing that I admire the most about her is that she raised me right and raised my brother right,” he ended.
