September 22 ------ P-pop group BGYO continues to make headway in the global music scene as the only Filipino performer at the recent Summer Sonic Bangkok 2025. The Filipino male group was thrilled to represent the Philippines at Japan's biggest music festival, held at IMPACT Challenger Hall in Bangkok, Thailand, on Aug. 23-24.
The festival featured global acts Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Black Eyed Peas, BABYMETAL, and more. BGYO members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate performed their latest single “Headlines,” “The Light (Thai version),” “Heartstrings,” and “All These Ladies,” which reached the Spotify PH’s Viral top 50. They also sang their Filipino songs “Andito Lang” and “Gigil.”
The Summer Sonic gig was BGYO’s second visit to Thailand this year, following the group’s guest appearance at Boss CKM’s “Dream Warrior Concert” in July, where they performed “Heartstrings” and “All These Ladies.” "Sobrang grateful namin to be given an opportunity to perform at Summer Sonic Bangkok. We were also given the chance to collaborate with other artists there. We were also thrilled to meet our celebrities like Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, and Black Eyed Peas. While watching meron kaming natutunan na pwede namin dalhin sa future shows namin. (We are so grateful to be given an opportunity to perform at Summer Sonic Bangkok. While watching, we learned something that we can take to our future shows)," said JL, who recently celebrated his birthday.
Apart from their explosive appearances in Thailand, the group was also one of the Kapamilya acts that rocked "ASAP England," held on Aug. 30 at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham. Meanwhile, BGYO has released the performance video for “Headlines,” which earned positive feedback from netizens. “World class talent for BGYO! This song is truly a remarkable masterpiece, a bop summer good vibes anthem for everyone! BGYO very talented at heart!!!,” according to a viewer on YouTube. “The newest single Headlines, give me a 90's boyband vibes. Ganda ng sound ng BGYO. Very catchy. The visuals is superb. Of course, ang ggwapo! The choreo is sharp. Talagang hindi naninipid ang BGYO sa fans,” another said.
Also, BGYO is named a contender for the International Rising Artist category as the five-piece Filipino male group continues to make a name in the global music scene. "We were surprised because this is our second time to be nominated. It simply reminds us to keep going. We are focused on our concert now and we're getting ready," said Nate, also a member of the group.
