Ariana Grande becomes first woman to gain 200 million followers on Instagram

September 9 ------ Global superstar Ariana Grande added another feather in her cap as she became the first woman to hit 200 million followers on Instagram.

The "Thank U Next" hitmaker is followed by makeup mogul and reality TV star Kylie Jenner with 194 million followers as of this writing. Singer-actress Selena Gomez comes in third with 192 million followers to date on the social media platform.

Ariana recently chronicled her participation in this year's Video Music Awards. She bagged the Best Collaboration and Song of the Year awards at this year's VMAs for the song "Rain On Me" with Lady Gaga.

She also announced on Instagram the release of her fragrance product r.e.m. recently. Football star Cristiano Ronaldo was the first individual to gain 200 million followers on Instagram.
