MANILA, Philippines, December 29 ------ Barbie Forteza joins acting greats Charo Santos and Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo in a drama penned and directed by Brillante Mendoza. The film’s recently released teaser opens with Forteza narrating lines from Pablo Neruda’s poem “Tonight I Can Write (The Saddest Lines),” setting a reflective tone anchored on love, memory and loss. “Tonight I can write the saddest lines / The night is starry and the stars are blue and shiver in the distance,” Barbie’s voiceover echoes in the teaser as her character, a bob-haired, pale-looking young student sits in a class.

As her character continues to read aloud the lines to Neruda’s somber poem, the teaser cuts to a montage of Barbie’s character's life: a warm hug with Charo's character, sharing a ride with a young man her age (played by Vince Rillon), and a conversation with a class adviser Eric Quizon portrays. The teaser also hints at the emotional dynamic between Santos and Anson-Roa, with scenes showing Santos caring for Anson-Roa’s wheelchair-bound character.
