November 9 ------ Winwyn Marquez said that she felt excited following the age limit removal for aspiring Miss Universe candidates.
In an interview on “Updated with Nelson Canlas,” Winwyn said that she’s in favor of the organization’s move, however, she wishes that it would be more specific on the age limit. “Ako, syempre, okay sa akin, ‘di ba? Pero sana merong, wag naman 'yung ano ‘yung age limit, sana may sabihin sila specific age 40 'di ba?” Winwyn said, adding that it may blow things “out of proportion.” “I don't know, depende sa pagkaintindi ng mga tao ‘di ba? Pero I feel like, now they understand din kung ano talaga ang babae na binibigyan ng opportunity to join again. Kasi even if you're 35, 36, iba 'yung maturity ng ganu'ng babae e. Ang daming maiimpart sa stage ng pageantry ‘di ba?” Winwyn continued.
The Kapuso star said that she felt excited “kasi 'di ba 'yung Miss Universe Philippines may moms na rin na sumali. So it was really exciting to watch for me.” “And syempre pro ako doon kasi Mommy ako, may times din na sana 'yung dream na 'yun hindi pa nashashatter, pwede akong sumali, which is nice,” she said. Winwyn said that she’s still unsure, but she wants to join pageantry again in the future. “I don't know if I'm gonna join, I don't know, hindi ko pa siya, it's not on top of my head. Kaya lang ito si Michelle [Dee,] tinag pa ako sa, syempre na-excite na rin naman ako. Pero pinag-iisipan ko,” she said. “I want to, maybe in the future, not now siguro, 'pag malaki-laki na 'yung anak ko, 'di ba? Well, I'm saying that now, I don't know a few years from now,” she added. Winwyn also shared that she is currently happy with her life. “Wala naman mawawala sa akin because I'm happy where I am, I have a daughter, I love my family, is okay na, nakamit ko na 'yung crown,” she said. Winwyn was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017.
