May 14 ------ Model-turned-actress Wilma Doesnt made a nostalgic return to her modeling roots as she participated in the Manila International Fashion Week. She was the grand finale in the creation of promising fashion designer Sheralene Shirata, a show that took place at White Space in Makati City. "I was truly surprised when I learned that I would be the grand finale in Sheralene's fashion show," shared Wilma during an ambush interview before the event.
Wilma is the endorser of Sheralene's fashion collection, composed of pageant gowns. "Pang-mayaman at classic ang style. Sa tagal ko ng modelo, alam ko ang malinis na damit. I would always go back to clean and decent clothes. Ito ang mga design na pang-ngayon. It's for the empowered women."
Asked how she is these days, Wilma laughed and said: "Maganda pa rin. Busy na ako ngayon sa aking five-star carinderia. Doon ninyo ako interview-hin. Saan n'yo gusto sa Tagaytay or General Trias? Pakakainin ko kayo roon." Wilma mentioned that she is still open to accepting showbiz offers, but only on a part-time basis. "May 'Abot Kamay Na Pangarap' pa rin naman ako. Nag-aartista pa rin. Pero bihira na talaga. I just can't say no to Richard Hinola. Pagkaibigan mo talaga wala kang magawa. Hindi ka makatanggi," she said.
Wilma, who won Best Supporting Actress at the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival for the movie "Sisterakas," also shared advice with aspiring models. "Wala ng standard ngayon. Anybody can be a model. Sana naman kung magmomodel ka ayusin mo ang kili-kili mo, mga siko mo at tuhod mo. Wala na ngang standard pero sana naman ayusin natin ang hygiene natin. Your skin is very important. "Sa lahat ng gustong maging model, please take care of your skin and improve your hygiene regardless of height and size. That's an investment. "I may sound funny pero kapag na-judge ka na, kapag naka-bikini ka na, yun talaga ang nakikita. Yung tuhod. May beauty queen na ganyan. Nagpagawa ng lahat pero nakalimutan ipaayos yung tuhod," Wilma said.
