February 16 ------ While Kylie Padilla has no problem accepting flowers or other gifts from admirers, she said she’s not ready to enter into a relationship anytime soon. Padilla stated that she is not yet ready to open her heart to love, as she wants to focus on her kids and career for now. The actress was married to Aljur Abrenica, but they separated in 2021. The latter is now happily in a relationship with AJ Raval and has three children.
Meanwhile, Padilla dated sometime in 2022, but confirmed that she is now single. “Hindi naman ako tatanggi sa bulaklak if ever may magbibigay sa’kin. Pero alam naman ng mga manliligaw ko na hindi pa ako ready. Basta alam nilang lahat kung ano ang estado ko ngayon,” she told select reporters on the premiere night of her new film “The Lotto Winner.”
With the topic of Abrenica and Raval’s relationship in mind, Padilla pointed out that she doesn’t have any love advice for her estranged husband’s current partner, but she is sincerely happy for them. “Nakapag-usap na kasi kami. As much as possible, ayoko nang umingay ‘yung issue kasi iniisip ko talaga ‘yung mga anak ko. Ayokong may makita silang negative or mag-cause ng overthinking sa kanila,” she said. “Kahit ano pang [issue ang] ibato mo sa’kin, ayoko na siyang lumaki. Wala akong ia-advice. I’m happy for them. Nakapagkuwentuhan na kami. ‘Yun lang. Basta, civil sa akin, okay na. Happy na.”
So, for Padilla, all is well between her and Abrenica, adding that she has long forgiven him. Of course, it took some time to wholeheartedly forgive her estranged husband. “Ang forgiveness, may process siya. Hindi pinipilit ’yan sa tao.” “Meron talagang proseso na kailangang pagdaanan. Pagdaanan mo ‘yun. Just be mindful na ang goal dapat is to forgive in the end,” she continued. “Para sa atin naman ‘yun eh. Kasi mabigat na dala-dala ‘yun. Hindi mo ma-forgive kung may galit ka.”
Forgiveness is the theme of Padilla’s film “The Lotto Winner,” which premieres in cinemas on Wednesday, February 18. The film tells the story of Aia (Padilla), who flies to Australia with her uncle (Robert Seña) and aunt to restart her life after her dad, Louie (Albert Martinez), gets addicted to gambling after her mother’s death.
