Why being a good daughter makes Kiray Celis the perfect future wife

August 12 ------ Popular belief has it that an ideal spouse in the future may be gauged by the kind of child he or she is to a parent; while this may spark debate, chances are a good son or daughter will likely make a fiercely good partner.
Particularly on my item today involving Kiray Celis, I’m sure I can never commit any slip-up by saying she perfectly fits the mold any parent would wish to raise. And because she’s a delightful daughter, it follows that her non-showbiz boyfriend, Stephan Estopi, a man of five years, is marrying the right woman; his parents would pretty soon love to consider her family.
In contrast to the plethora of grim events in April, one after another, the 22nd day was punctuated with unspeakable bliss. As scorching as the summer heat was, sparks that flew everywhere as Stephan--with the tiny box containing the ring — knelt before Kiray with his customary “Will you marry me?” line.
The marriage proposal — as witnessed by families of both parties — took place at an undisclosed beach resort.
“The CEO (chief executive officer) of Hot Babe, Hello Bloom, and Day-Li is now engaged,” was Kiray’s caption that accompanied a photo posted on Instagram. Hot Babe, Hello Bloom, and Day-Li are the corporate names of Kiray’s online business, which she had jump-started with the help of Stephan.
In yet another IG photo, the comedienne was in tears as she was trying the engagement ring on. Kiray shared a story about Stephan and her scouring the jewelry shops at a mall. “When he was looking for a ring to buy, I told him I wouldn’t settle for anything less than half a million pesos. Do you think it’s pricey? He has means anyway, he just needs to do better in his job!”
Prior to the “beach proposal,” Kiray — in her guesting on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” — ruled out any immediate wedding plans. She cited unspecified goals she needs to fulfill before setting her sights on living a connubial life. A self-confessed late bloomer, Kiray said it’s only at this point now that she’s able to get the hang of what life has in store for her — both ventures and adventures. As far as her filial responsibilities are concerned, however, her parents can’t seem to ask for more.
Kiray’s elders can’t be any prouder of her every time there are birthday fetes at home. With the old Celis couple getting their pockets full of cold cash, they cannot fathom themselves, who needs a jackpot prize on a game show on TV that will change their life in an instant? Things, however, have taken a 180-degree turn. The latest — there are already preparations for the wedding. Fact is, Kiray’s bridal gown, which equally must have cost an arm and a leg, is on the rack waiting to be worn on the still-unspecified altar date.
Admittedly, little did the bride-to-be realize how taxing getting ready for the most important day in her life could be. “I thought planning was easy, not knowing that we need to pay attention to the littlest detail like who’s going to sing, what shoes the guests should wear, the food and wine tasting, and all that,” she shared. What makes the prepping up easier, though, is the financial side of it: “Stephan and I share the expenses, although he’d volunteer most of the time. But I refuse as I want it fair and square. One thing with him, he lets me decide and respects my say on it.” Soon to be Mrs. Estopia, this includes not stopping her from still providing her family’s minor needs: “Piece of cake!”
