Vice Ganda, Vic Sotto form powerhouse duo for 'The Greatest Showdown'

MANILA, June 6 ------ Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto are set to join forces for a film, bringing together two of the country's biggest comedy stars and noontime television icons in a highly anticipated big-screen project.

The two will work together in "The Greatest Showdown" under director Jun Robles Lana, who had also previously directed and co-written Vice's previous films "Call Me Mother" and "And the Breadwinner Is...," Star Cinema announced Sunday in a social media post.

The post included a teaser poster for the film. "Get ready for a movie event that brings everyone together through laughter!" the ABS-CBN film production outfit wrote in the post. "The Unkabogable Superstar Vice Ganda and our beloved Bossing Vic Sotto will finally share the big screen!" it added. Star Cinema did not give an exact premiere date, but said the film would screen "exclusively in cinemas this 2026!"

Vice and Sotto announced the project — a collaboration among ABS-CBN Studios, Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, M-Zet Productions and APT Entertainment — during an event held at a mall in Quezon City on Sunday. "Katulad ko, alam niyo lahat din kayo inaantay itong pagkakataon na 'to. Minsan lang 'to mangyayari at gusto mangyari 'to noon pa man. Sa ngayon, nagtagpo na kami," Vice said. "Hindi lang una at huling beses niyo kami makikita dahil mapapanood niyo kaming magkasama sa isang pelikula." Vic Sotto echoed the excitement, saying the film is their gift to both loyal supporters and moviegoers.
