January 6 ------ US President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a pointed warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro, suggesting that Petro “is not going to be doing it for very long.”

When asked about the possibility of a US military operation against Colombia, Trump responded, “It sounds good to me.” Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump criticized Colombia’s leadership, alleging involvement in drug production. “Colombia is run by a sick man who likes making cocaine and selling it to the United States,” he said, claiming that Petro oversees “cocaine mills and cocaine factories,” though he offered no evidence to support these statements.

The remarks came a day after Petro called for urgent meetings of the Organization of American States and the United Nations to address recent US actions against Venezuela. Last month, in an interview with Politico, Trump suggested he would consider expanding US military operations to other countries, including Mexico and Colombia.
