Thirdy Ravena, San-En complete sweep of Kai-led Yokohama




April 16 ------ CENTRAL Conference champions San-En NeoPhoenix continued to ride this big wave of momentum heading to the 2023-24 Japan B.League playoffs, stringing their sixth straight victory. Thirdy Ravena and Co. swept Kai Sotto and the Yokohama B-Corsairs, 99-92, at Yokohama Buntai. Ravena nabbed 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal to push San-En up to 43-10.

 

On the other hand, the loss dented Yokohama’s playoff hopes as it slipped to 22-31 despite Sotto’s 23 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block. Matthew Wright and the Kyoto Hannaryz bounced back with a 93-83 victory over Osaka Evessa at Ookini Arena Maishima to rise to 15-38. The Fil-Canadian tallied 23 points, five assists, four boards, and one steal. Ray Parks was held to just five points and two boards as the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins saw their seven-game win streak snapped by an 84-67 loss to Fighting Eagles Nagoya at Dolphins Arena. The Dolphins dropped to 35-18.

 

RJ Abarrientos also had five points and three assists in Shinshu Brave Warriors’ 80-76 loss to Kawasaki Brave Thunders at White Ring Arena. Abarrientos' team stayed at the bottom with a 7-46 card. Over in B2, Yamagata Wyverns fell to Iwate Big Bulls, 79-65, at Yamagata Prefectural Sports Park to split their weekend series. Roosevelt Adams only had four rebounds as Yamagata sunk to 30-28.
