‘The Voice’ PH franchise departs ABS-CBN after 10 seasons




May 21 ------- The local franchise of the singing competition “The Voice” ended its run in ABS-CBN after 10 seasons, as the “The Voice Teens” capped off with the win of Jillian Pamat from Team Bamboo. 

  

After naming Pamat as the winner, hosts Robi Domingo and Bianca Gonzalez expressed their gratitude to the celebrity coaches, contestants, hosts, and audience members who supported the show throughout its run on the Kapamilya network. “Sa ngalan ng ABS-CBN, lahat ng bumubuo sa ‘The Voice of the Philippines,’ at lahat ng naging bahagi ng sampung edisyong it, we would love to say thank you to our coaches, Apl.de.Ap, Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Sharon Cuneta, Martin Nievera, KZ Tandingan, and Bamboo,” a tearful Domingo said. “Hanggang sa muli nating pagtuklas at pagkilala at pagdiwang sa galing ng mga Pilipino.” 

  

Meanwhile, Gonzalez said apart from the hosts and contestants, the backstage staff also played a huge role in the franchise’s successful run. “Kami ang nakikita niyo on camera, pero napakarami po who worked off cam,” she said. “Para sa lahat ng bumubuo ng music, creatives, production, technicals, and other departments, kami’y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa inyo. It’s time to take one final bow.” 

  

Shortly after the finale was aired, Bamboo also took to his Instagram account to thank those who supported “The Voice’s” franchise in ABS-CBN for the past 10 editions. “‘THE VOICE in ABS-CBN is now officially signing off,” he wrote. “10 seasons, 3 versions, 7 legendary coaches. Sa Sampung edisyon na pinagsamahan natin, ito na po ang huling season ng ‘The Voice’ sa ating Kapamilya Network.” 

  

The show’s franchise has been taken over by GMA. The first season under the Kapuso network was broadcast from August to December 2023, where Julie Anne San Jose, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, Billy Crawford, and SB19’s Stell Ajero as the coaches. The GMA franchise will then broadcast a new installment of “The Voice Kids” with Ajero returning as a coach. Further details are yet to be announced.
