MANILA, January 19 ------ The national 3x3 wheelchair basketball and cerebral palsy football teams will compete for the Philippines in the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The men's squad will be the first in line as it faces Indonesia while the women's side will take on hosts Thailand.
Both games will be held in the fourth floor of the Terminal 21 Korat as both squads look to dominate the preliminary rounds. Pilipinas Warriors head coach Vernon Perea said key adjustments during games will be the key in their campaign. "We are always hoping but no matter how hard we train. It will all boil down to the breaks of the game, how fit we are and how sharp we are during the game," Perea said. "We are making adjustments. Court 2, medyo madulas tsaka Court 1, may mga rough surfaces. But lahat naman ng players maglalaro dyan so it will be the same for everybody."
Meanwhile, the men's CP football side will also begin as early as 4 p.m. at the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Football Stadium. The opening ceremony will be on Tuesday, 20 January, while the competition officially starts on Wednesday.
