MANILA, February 21 ------ South Korea has revised the list of documents for Filipino visa applicants to enhance convenience and promote its tourism.

In a Facebook post, the Korea Visa Application Center Philippines (KVAC) said starting February 20, 2026, the submission of "three months of bank statements" would be waived. Student applicants will soon have a choice to submit either their original school certificate or a copy of their student ID instead of submitting both documents as proof of their student status, the visa center said.

Common documents, such as an invitation letter, family relationship documents, and company-related documents, can also be submitted in one copy only and attached to the representative applicant's file in cases of multiple applications, KVAC said. It added that the submission of an explanation letter for employment-related documents will also be waived in cases wherein there is no indicated landline number or when it is issued with an electronic signature

The document will be accepted as long as other contact information, such as email address or mobile phone number, is reachable, according to KVAC.
