Shuvee Etrata on her life being redirected: ‘I’m bound for greater purpose’

September 3 ------ Kapuso actress and host Shuvee Etrata shared how she found out about her purpose in life after being redirected from what she originally wanted to do growing up. In the latest episode of Paano Ba ‘To by Bianca Gonzalez, the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate admitted questioning her faith as to why she wasn’t suddenly in the field she chose in the beginning.

Shuvee was open about wanting to enter the medical field in the past, as she was a physical therapy student but due to circumstances, content creation led her to Manila from her hometown in Cebu. “I’m kind of redirected into content creation– yun yung una kong naging steps. With content creation, they gave me a chance to actually go to Manila… It was my first time riding the airplane, I went to EDSA, I had billboards,” she recalled.

The Kapuso star added that while it wasn’t an easy decision to leave her hometown to improve her family’s status, she began questioning as to why fate and her faith had other plans for her. “I was really redirected– I felt at first it was rejection, kasi sabi ko bakit from the start gusto ko maging doktor… Bakit ako mag artista eh hindi nga ako marunong mag acting,” she shared.

Despite the questions she had in her head, Shuvee continued to trust the process, and it was during her PBB stint when she found that content creation could lead her to a greater purpose in her life–– more than what she haD imagined. “There’s a divine intervention for me, na I’m bound for a greater purpose. It’s for me to actually influence these people. To be honest with you, I’ve had minimal fans before entering PBB… There have to be five or 10 core people that I have had. And then, come PBB, sobrang nagbago,” she narrated. “Now, I feel like this is really my purpose. I just realized, after all those hardships, all that doubts, that struggles we faced every single day. You just know for yourself, you just need to realize na you’re actually have a better path sometimes,” she added.

The former PBB housemate then advised the listeners to take a leap of faith as being redirected could be a good sign for them, just like it was for her. “You just know for yourself, you just need to realize na you’re actually on a better path sometimes… Some of us may gusto pero for some reason, redirected, and for that redirection, I found a purpose so it’s so beautiful for me that my life now is more meaningful because of PBB, because of a lot of things happening. That’s because I made that one decision of just taking the risk,” she said.
