August 23 ------ Fresh from her stint on “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition,” Shuvee Etrata is stepping into what she proudly calls her “practical era.” With endorsement deals coming her way and a growing fan base behind her, the 24-year-old has found herself juggling fame, finances, and a new home — all while staying true to her grounded personality.

Since leaving the PBB house, Etrata has been tapped by several brands drawn to her authenticity, charm, and wit. Most recently, she was announced as the new face Filipino hygiene brand Femme. “I’m excited to begin my Femme era with a brand that values practicality and encourages women to live confidently every day,” Etrata said during the contract signing. Femme’s commitment to quality, comfort, and purposeful living resonates with how I approach my own life and career. I’m proud to represent a brand that supports women in making choices that truly matter,” she added.

For Etrata, however, practicality is not just branding, but it’s her way of life. Despite her growing success, she admits she has to be pushed to indulge in luxuries. “The challenge for my team is to make me splurge because I’m a cheapskate,” the Cebuana from Bantayan Island said with a laugh. “I know the feeling when you have nothing, when you don’t have anything to pull from your pockets or wallet, that’s how hard life was for me. So now that I’m given all of these opportunities, I want to be smart about my spending,” she continued.

Etrata said she has a financial advisor to help her work toward her big goal —buying land and eventually building a house for her family. “But for my self-needs, I don’t really like splurging a lot, I only want to spend on necessities,” she added. That practicality shows in her day-to-day life, too, as she prepares to move into a larger home with her best friend and fellow actress Ashley Ortega. “We’re supposed to move this month, but I haven’t been able to do what I need to do. That house has a bigger space for me and Ashley. We didn’t meet inside PBB, but we have lived together in one house for a long time outside PBB,” she said.

For Etrata, this practicality goes beyond personal finance. When asked about fame, the grounded actress said she is taking it as a responsibility. “I want to be a good inspiration to everybody. Now that I know I hold so much responsibility, I take it as a challenge to handle myself with grace under pressure. I know brands trust me and supporters believe in me. “There are many people depending on me, but I always go back to my core — fame is nothing if you don’t know yourself. I’m happy that during my PBB journey, I was loved for who I am. I don’t need to pretend or wear a mask every day. They love me for being me, and that makes me happy. With that, I just want to be an inspiration, a good role model, and share my values and advocacy as I continue this journey with them,” Etrata added.

Meanwhile, Etrata’s advice to her fellow Gen Zs aligns with her new partnership’s message: be practical, especially with finances. “What’s important is to save for the future. You don’t need to earn a lot or buy expensive things — unless it truly makes you happy. But for me, it’s about practicality,” she said. She added that being practical goes beyond money and applies to life decisions in general. “Think carefully before making choices, because we live in a world where it’s easy to compare ourselves to others on social media. But there’s no need for comparison — it only steals happiness. Just be content, embrace who you are, and find joy in doing things your own way,” Etrata finally said.
