September 1 ------ Music and fashion will go hand-in-hand as SB19 and Francis Libiran announced a collaboration entitled “Fast Zone,” which is said to be an experience that combines both in one show. The P-pop powerhouse and renowned designer’s collaboration was first revealed on SB19’s social media platforms, with concept photos of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Libiran being unveiled days later.
The photos showed the SB19 members in form-fitting suits while posing on a table laid with several candles, ornaments, and other table decorations. However, Stell’s ensemble was noticeable as he was the only one donning a dark gray sleeveless shirt. “Rules break on impact. FAST ZONE. Soon,” the caption on the SB19 members’ concept photos read.
A concept photo of Libiran was also uploaded on Thursday, August 28, where he wore a cream suit top reminiscent of a modern barong. “The thread cuts deeper than the needle. FAST ZONE. Soon,” the post read. A group photo and a concept trailer showing a glimpse of the collaboration were also uploaded on SB19’s platforms, hinting that it goes “beyond trend [and] sound.” The trailer ended with the date “10.26.2025.”
Details of the “Fast Zone” collaboration are yet to be announced, but Libiran teased in a Global News interview that he will hold a “really big fashion show with a really popular P-pop group” earlier this month. The designer also launched a casting call for an “unprecedented showcase at the Araneta Coliseum” in October, although he didn’t disclose if this was indeed the collaboration.
On Sunday, August 31, SB19 confirmed that “Fast Zone” will be in a show that combines music and fashion in celebration of their seventh debut anniversary. It will be held on October 26 at the Araneta Coliseum. “7 Years. One Zone. Now, a runway. In celebration of SB19’s 7th Year Anniversary and in collaboration with world-acclaimed Filipino Fashion Designer Francis Libiran, FAST ZONE is a high-octane fashion & music experience that amplifies a premiere collection of couture, emerging as a new sonic of style in motion. Beyond trend. Beyond sound. Welcome to the ‘FAST ZONE,’” the post read. This is not the first time SB19 and Libiran have worked together. The renowned fashion designer crafted the quintet’s black-and-white barongs at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards and their respective intricate suits for their “Simula at Wakas” concept photos.
Known for his sophisticated and architecture-inspired pieces, Libiran has dressed several local and international stars such as Tyra Banks, Darren Criss, Mena Massoud, Gwen Stefani, Angela Bassett, and local artists such as Kyline Alcantara, Kim Chiu, Kylie Verzosa, Darren Espanto, Beyonce, and Beatrice Luigi Gomez, among many others. He was also the mastermind behind the “Sinag”-themed barongs of Team Philippines on the 2024 Paris Olympics.
SB19 is currently embarking on their “Simula at Wakas” world tour, and is set to visit Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Melbourne, Norwest, Perth, Doha, Riyadh, and Jeddah.
