SB19 dominates first Filipino Music Awards

MANILA, Philippines, October 22 ------ P-pop powerhouse SB19 reigned supreme at the inaugural Filipino Music Awards (FMA) bagging six major awards during a star-studded ceremony held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.


Dubbed the "Kings of P-pop," the group swept multiple categories, including Pop Song of the Year for “Dungka!”, People’s Choice Artist, People’s Choice Song (also for “Dungka!”), Tour of the Year and Concert of the Year for “Simula at Wakas,” and the coveted Artist of the Year title.


The first-ever Filipino Music Awards, organized by Modern Media Group Inc., gathered over 500 artists, industry leaders, and thousands of fans for an evening celebrating the best in local music. The event was hosted by Joey Mead King, Michael Sager, and Elijah Canlas.

A night of performances and tributes

The awards show featured electrifying performances from top Filipino acts, including Ely Buendia, Lolita Carbon, Yeng Constantino, Gloc-9, BGYO, Bini, SB19, Ben & Ben, Maki, and Cup of Joe, who lit up the stage with their hits.


The Legacy Awards paid tribute to icons who paved the way for the current generation of artists. Music legend Jose Mari Chan was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Pilita Corrales received a posthumous Tribute Award for her enduring influence on Filipino music.


Announced in August 2025, the Filipino Music Awards aims to recognize excellence across genres and celebrate the country’s vibrant music scene. Winners were determined through a combination of jury deliberation, commercial performance, and public voting.
