July 7 ------ Regine Velasquez is giving fans an additional chance to witness what she calls her “final major solo concert” by making the second day of the two-night event free to the public.
The concert, titled “FINALE,” is scheduled on Oct. 17 and 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, marking Velasquez’s 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry. The Asia’s Songbird first announced the concert in May, describing it as her last large-scale solo concert, although she later clarified it does not mean she is retiring from show business.
Ticket prices have already been announced for the Oct. 17 show, which includes meet-and-greet access for select ticket holders. Tickets will go on sale on July 30. Meanwhile, organizers later revealed that the Oct. 18 performance will be free, allowing more fans to celebrate the milestone concert with the OPM icon. “Isang Pasasalamat sa apatnapung taon,” read the social media announcement on Sunday, July 5.
According to the mechanics, a blind ticketing system will be applied. Ticket holders will be assigned the best seat available at the time of allocation. Registration for the free tickets is set to open on July 30. Additional details on how the public can secure free admission are available on the Instagram page of iMusic Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Velasquez’s husband, Ogie Alcasid, has also clarified that the “FINALE” concert should not be interpreted as his wife’s retirement. At the time, Alcasid explained that Velasquez intends to step away from staging physically demanding major solo productions but will continue to perform through other live events and television appearances.
