Ravena, Yokohama complete sweep as Kai, Dwight settle for splits

February 17 ------ THE Yokohama B-Corsairs completed a weekend sweep of Nagoya Fighting Eagles with an 87–78 victory in the Japan B.League. Kiefer Ravena stood out with 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists for the B-Corsairs as he outclassed Nagoya's Francis Lopez, who was limited to just two points and three rebounds.


The Gunma Crane Thunders, on the other hand, suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of Nagasaki Velca. After falling 97–80 in their first encounter, Gunma nearly found a way to beat Nagasaki in the rematch. But Velca pulled away from a 72-all to claim a five-point win.


Gilas Pilipinas big man AJ Edu finished with seven points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 13 minutes of play for the Crane Thunders. After a solid outing the night before, Kai Sotto and Koshigaya settled for a split against the Sun Rockers Shibuya with a 62–69 loss.


The 7-foot-3 Sotto claimed another double-double with his 10 points and 13 rebounds, to go with two assists. Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido split their two match-ups against Toyama Grouses over the weekend. Ramos paced Hokkaido to a 101–98 escape with 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists. However, the last-place Toyama bounced back to beat Levanga, 115–93.


The 6-foot-4 guard registered nine points, four rebounds, and one assist in the loss, as Hokkaido fell to 27–12.
