MANILA, Philippines, January 14 ------ Last Christmas, Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji, fondly dubbed RabGel by fans, exchanged special gifts and spent the holiday season celebrating with their respective families. Angela recently gave Rabin her present this January.
“Her gift is super sweet,” Rabin shared during the media conference for their first movie together, “A Werewolf Boy.” “That’s always been one of my concerns. For example, when I don’t have my glam team with me during events and mall shows, I don’t have anyone to do my makeup. She’s the one who does it for me.” Rabin quipped that he not only gained a love team in Angela but also a makeup artist.
As of the mediacon, Rabin said that he had not yet given his gift to Angela, but they nevertheless shared their wishes for each other this year. “My wish for Rabin is for him to be nominated and to win a Best Actor award, and for us to have an entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2026,” Angela expressed. Rabin added that having an MMFF entry this year is truly their dream. He wished Angela good health and hoped they would have more projects together and work with veteran actors in the industry. “A Werewolf Boy,” directed by Crisanto Aquino, is a Philippine adaptation of South Korea’s 2012 film starring Song Joong-ki and Park Bo-young. The local remake, which delves into an extraordinary tale of love, longing, and devotion, will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting today.
Both admitted that they felt nervous as they made their big-screen debut following “Seducing Drake Palma” and “Ang Mutya ng Section E.” “I don’t have any rituals for the movie’s success, but I always pray. Kung ano man po ang plano ni Lord, Siya na po ang bahala sa movie. As long as we gave our best, (we don’t have to worry about anything),” Rabin maintained.
Angela echoed Rabin’s statement: “I also don’t have rituals. The only thing I remember doing this New Year was eating grapes under the table. Aside from that, I didn’t do anything. Like Rabin, I always pray before I sleep because I think about it then.” Rabin confessed that he’s been having trouble sleeping as the movie’s screening draws near. “Nahirapan po talaga matulog lately because I’m nervous. This is our first movie together, kaya sobrang nakakaba po.”
