MANILA, February 13 ------ PLDT's towering net defense was too much to handle for Capital1. The High Speed Hitters, who flexed their might on the net, turned back the Solar Spikers, 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.
They spoiled Bella Belen's 28-point explosion for the other side, her best scoring output by far in just her rookie year in the professional league. The wards of coach Rald Ricafort, after absorbing a 22-25 defeat in Set 3, avenged the set loss and went firing in the succeeding frame, kicking it off with a 10-4 run. Their lead in Set 4 eventually became 17-10, which was pretty much a huge cushion to work on leading to the win.
A veteran move by Kim Kianna Dy put PLDT on match point, nailing an off-speed hit, 24-16. Ysa Jimenez tried to keep Capital1 alive with an off-the-block kill in the ensuing play, but Mika Reyes was there for the game-ending kill in the middle to seal the match for the High Speed Hitters, 25-17. Dy finished with 20 points, while PVL Press Corps' recent Player of the Week awardee Savi Davison also had 20 markers, while adding 11 excellent receptions.
They had 15 kill blocks with Majoy Baron accounted for five of those, and with Dy also clinching four swats; in contrast, the Solar Spikers only had four in total. Meanwhile, Belen tried to carry her team on her back with a PVL-scoring high, but was still not enough to take down the PLDT towers. The National U legend had 26 attacks, one block and an ace, to go with 10 excellent digs and 12 excellent receptions, still proving her worth as 2025 PVL Draft's number one overall pick. The closest Solar Spiker to her in terms of scoring was Shaya Adorador, who had 13 points.
