MANILA, April 5 ------ Cignal HD has regained its winning ways. This, as the HD Spikers overcome their five-set heartbreak dealt by Creamline and cruised past Farm Fresh, 25-10, 25-14, 25-15, in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Coach Shaq delos Santos commended Jovelyn Gonzaga's leadership. "Sobrang proud ako sa team kasi kinommit talaga nila 'yung sarili nila para makapag-perform nang maayos, especially Jov Gonzaga. Grabe 'yung leadership niya kanina sa loob ng court. Maririnig naman natin 'yung sa communication and then sa performance talaga," Delos Santos told reporters during the postgame press conference.
Gonzaga nailed 17 points on 14 attacks and two aces to go along with 10 excellent digs, while Ces Molina and Vanie Gandler were also in twin-digit category with 11 and 10 markers in the scoring department. Gel Cayuna, being the outstanding playmaker she is, distributed 18 excellent sets in the overwhelming victory. Gandler and company boosted their tournament bid and improved to 5-2 along with Petro Gazz and Chery Tiggo, while the Foxies descended to a 2-5 slate. "Sobrang happy and thankful ako kasi 'yung mga pinaghirapan talaga namin before Holy Week and after Holy Week talagang nai-apply namin nang maayos. I think ang isang challenge lang sa amin is papaano namin siya ma-maintain the whole game," Delos Santos added.
