MANILA, Philippines, April 6 ------ Fuel prices across Metro Manila generally remained unchanged and steep over Easter weekend, as Filipinos traveled back to the capital from Holy Week holidays. Based on reported April 5-6 benchmarks compiled by Philstar.com, Metro Manila diesel averaged P133.19 per liter, well above the Department of Energy’s national average of P119.20.
The Marcos administration has also continued to build emergency stocks. The Department of Energy earlier confirmed the arrival of 22.578 million liters of diesel, the first shipment under its emergency fuel security program.
