PLDT books PVL Invitational finals seat after ZUS' loss to Cignal

August 26 ------ PLDT is through to the 2025 PVL Invitational championship game by virtue of ZUS Coffee’s loss to Cignal. Based on the remaining schedule of games, only one other team between Chery Tiggo and Kobe Shinwa University can finish prelims play with at most one loss.

The High-Speed Hitters’ perfect 4-0 record with one prelim match left assures the reigning preseason champions of a top two finish in single round-robin play. This gives PLDT the chance to win its second title in its second finals appearance over a two-week stretch since completing an eight-game sweep of the 2025 PVL on Tour. As it stands, Chery Tiggo has inside track in second place and can set up a title rematch with PLDT.

Teams ranked third and fourth at the end of prelims play will advance to the battle for third. Both the finals and battle for third will be played on Aug. 31, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
