Piolo today on love, life and ideal partnerships

July 9 ------ "Who is your ideal partner?" is a question that has been part of every interview of top actor Piolo Pascual since starting his showbiz career in 1992. Because until his adoring public sees him happily settled down, they will always keep a close eye on Pascual's personal life, only wishing him the best in love and happiness.

Over the weekend, however, the award-winning actor and philanthropist assured friends and fans that even if he remains single at 45, he is content and living a meaningful existence. At his latest media conference, Pascual related, "Over the pandemic, I realized, happiness is not about having a partner per se, but about having the independence to live your life one day at a time." He added, of the last two years, "Time taught me a lot about discipline and especially to appreciate life for whatever it gives you by the day." Pressed as he always is about going into a relationship, he replied without a hint of impatience, "Hindi kasi ako naghahanap eh. 'Yun ang mahirap dun eh. But there will come a time for me to settle down. "Again, I don't have any criteria or requirements [for an ideal partner] because at the end of the day, it's about heart, it's about your feelings. Hindi naman hinahanap 'yun, dumarating na lang," he rightly declared.

Despite a lull in the love department, Pascual made sure to reveal he is still far from jaded despite failed relationships. Still a fan of true love, he stated, "I believe in something that happens out of fate, something that happens with divine intervention or divine appointments. I believe in magic. I believe in something electrifying. And when that time comes, that person will be the ideal partner." Showing the way to his meaningful existence, Pascual first expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming success of his ongoing "Flower of Evil" series with Lovi Poe. It is currently the No. 1 weekly series on Viu, a Southeast Asia-wide entertainment platform. The actor's current state in life and other similar personal stories in fact have served as the inspiration behind the latest Piolo x Sun Life Philippines project titled "Partner for Life." The launch premiered how the message of the campaign is depicted in a fun and vibrant music video featuring Sun Life's leading brand ambassador in singer-songwriter Johnoy Danao's single, "Bright Like the Sun." Pascual ended by saying, "At this point in my life, I just want continue doing what I'm doing. This is something I really appreciate, being in this business, being in front of you guys, and just sharing my life."
