Philippine team starts Paralympic quest

MANILA, Philippines, August 24 ------ The lean but mean Philippine team formally opens its campaign in the Tokyo Paralympics which unfurl today at the Tokyo National Stadium in Japan. From six, the Nationals are down to five including wheelchair racer Jerold Mangliwan and swimmer Ernie Gawilan, who will be flag-bearers in the opening and closing ceremonies (Sept. 5), respectively. The original cast of qualified bets included powerlifter Achel Guion, tanker Gary Bejino, discus thrower Jeannette Aceveda and taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin.
