Team PFP-GlobalPort is composed of Argentinian-American and former U.S. Open Champion players Nino Obregón and Collo Gonzales, who teamed up with Filipino stalwart Mikee Romero and Fil-Am Anthony Garcia to form a formidable four-man roster. With disciplined teamwork and an aggressive offensive push in the later chukkers, GlobalPort pulled away to secure the title. Romero contributed three goals in the match, complementing the powerful play of Obregón and Gonzales, while Garcia provided crucial support in both offense and defense. The victory at the Allen Trebian Memorial Cup adds another prestigious title to PFP-GlobalPort’s growing record in the US polo circuit, further underscoring the team’s reputation as a rising force in international polo competitions.
The Allen Trebian Memorial Cup is an awaited 14-goal USPA Midwest Open special feature, a tribute to the much-admired leader in the Las Brisas community. PFP-GlobalPort earlier overwhelmed Flying Changes in a pre-semis match at the Midwest Open where Flying Changes was 2024 title holder. PFP (Passion for Polo)’s team up with GlobalPort led by Filipino patron and player Romero provided a stellar attraction to the Illinois tournament. GlobalPort strutted in from a historic quarter-final finish in the prestigious US Open in Florida from its first run in the Gauntlet.
