Peso falls to record low for seventh time in March

MANILA, March 31 ------ The Philippine peso fell to a record low of P60.69 against the dollar. This is lower than the P60.55 to the greenback at the close of trading on March 27. This is the seventh time this month that the peso fell to a record low.
It fell to P59.50 against the dollar amid the conflict in the Middle East on March 9. On March 13, it sank further to P59.735. On March 16, it fell further to P59.87. It breached the P60 to the dollar level when it fell to P60.10 on March 19. It closed at P60.30 on March 23, before settling to P60.55 on March 27.
