June 13 ------ Former Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 housemate Joli Alferez has achieved another milestone as she officially passed the Dentist Licensure Examination.
On her Instagram page, Joli announced that she has passed the examination and is now a Doctor of Dental Medicine. “Akala ko di ko kakayanin! This is for God, for my family, and for everyone who never stopped believing in me,” she wrote.
In her caption, Joli opened up about her difficult journey and how self-doubt shadowed her along the way. She recalled being a mischievous and hard-headed child, often getting into trouble in school. “There were so many moments I doubted myself. I was the typical naughty and hard-headed second child. In elementary, I got scolded many times for causing trouble, nearly dropped out for cutting classes, and had more than a few visits to the principal’s office. But that wasn’t the end of my story,” she added.
Despite the challenges, Joli credited her loved ones for never giving up on her and constantly pushing her to reach for her dreams. “My family and friends never gave up on me. They believed I was capable of more—even when I didn’t believe it myself,” she expressed.
The Smiling Darling of Camarines Sur also reflected on the demanding path she took to chase both her passion for dentistry and her dreams as a celebrity. Joli joined the Pinoy Big Brother house in 2023 while continuing her studies and board exam preparations. “Many of you know I was part of Pinoy Big Brother. Chasing two dreams at once was not an easy task. I had rehearsals, shoots, mall shows, and travels—all while preparing for my board exam,” she stated.
Joli went on: “I cried, broke down, troubled sleeping, and almost gave up. But in those moments, God sent the right people to lift me up, remind me of my purpose, and strengthen my faith.” Joli dedicated her success to everyone who stood by her during her struggles. “So today, I dedicate this achievement to the people who reminded me that I am more than my past and more than my doubts,” she wrote. “Thank you for believing in me—even when I was still learning to believe in myself.”
