March 27 ------ Housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab 2.0” said they feel both honored and emotional after learning they would be the final batch to stay in the show’s original “Bahay ni Kuya” before it moves to a new location.
Kapuso big winner Caprice Cayetano, alongside fellow housemates Heath Jornales, Ashley Sarmiento, Princess Aliyah, Clifford, Lee Victor, and Marco Masa, shared their reactions to becoming part of the show’s history during a press conference in Quezon City.
Jornales described the experience as a “great honor,” noting the significance of staying in the original house where the reality show made its mark. “Yung feeling ko po na kami po yung last batch po na nakapunta po sa, or naka-stay po sa OG house ni Kuya. It’s really an honor po, kasi doon po nag-start lahat, and I’m really happy na nakapag-stay po ako doon for the last time,” he said.
Clifford echoed the sentiment, saying he felt both “happy and sad” about relocation as he acknowledged that many aspiring housemates may no longer get the same opportunity. “Syempre super grateful kami na we were the last batch to experience the OG house ni Kuya. But at the same time, I’m sure a lot of people wanted to experience it also. Pero, sobrang excited naman ako para sa next batch na papasok. Kasi bagong experience for them,” he expressed.
For Masa, the experience was “once in a lifetime,” especially as he did not expect to enter the house after already being in the entertainment industry. “It’s pretty sweet, for me, talagang sobrang blessed lang ako and lahat ng mga nakasama kong housemates dahil kami pa ‘yung naging last batch. And me personally, I never expected na makakapasok pa ako sa bahay ni Kuya since nasa industry na ako. Isa siyang experience na once in a blue moon,” said the actor.
Victor, on the other hand, highlighted the privilege of being part of the final batch, calling it a nostalgic experience that they would be able to share in the future. “It’s sad. But honestly, parang masarap na ipagmalaki na parang ikuwento sa mga future generation at sabihin na parang naging OG housemate ako dun sa lumang bahay ni Kuya. So, it’s gonna be a nostalgic feeling, and it’s an experience you can’t repeat. Kaya, when we were in that house, we cherished all the moments.”
Cayetano, meanwhile, admitted feeling both happiness and sadness, saying it was meaningful to have lived in such an iconic space but emotional to see it transition. Sarmiento added that she was thankful to have created memories in a house that has “changed so many lives.” Aliyah said the group felt “very honored and grateful” to close a chapter that has lasted more than two decades.
