'PBB Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0' reveals first 2 new housemates

MANILA, October 22 ------ Joaquin Arce and Sofia Pablo are the first two housemates joining "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0," which is another collaboration between ABS-CBN Studios and GMA.

On Tuesday, October 21, the newest housemates from ABS-CBN's Star Magic and GMA's Sparkle were revealed during the broadcast of "24 Oras" on GMA-7. Young and fierce are the traits of the two new housemates.

Arce, the son of businessman Neil Arce, who's the husband of actress Angel Locsin, admitted that he is a fan of the show, which is why he decided to join the brand new edition. "I watched last season. I'm a huge fan of 'PBB' as a show, so I decided, why not give it a try," he said. Pablo, meanwhile, is one of the rising stars of the Kapuso network. "This is something big for me kasi I'm always a victim of misconception, of fake news. And I feel like people know me for my work sa mga memes ko. I want the, to know me for who I really am," Pablo said.

The two new housemates are preparing themselves for the things that they will miss from the outside world. "I hang out with as much friends as possible, of course keeping quiet, but in my mind, 'oh I'm not going to see them for a while.' Parang kailangan kong mag-hang-out sa family ko, sa mom ko, sa dad ko," Arce said.

When Pablo was asked if she's ready that she might be spending the holidays inside the house, the actress replied: "I can never be ready for that. Again, sa buong buhay ko and I never spent Christmas and New Year away from my mom, kasi dalawa lang kami. And even si mommy, she's crying. If I'm not there, she's going to be alone. But then again iniisip namin one Christmas, one New Year kapalit ng pwedeng ma-appreciate na ng tao for who we really are. So sugal talaga," Pablo said.

When asked what he is bringing inside the house, Arce replied that he will be bringing his own toiletries. "I'm big on toiletries, kung papayagan ako. May dalawa akong toothpaste usually pang-four months 'yung isang tube ng toothpaste, pero may dalawa akong tube, just in case if I want to share," he said.

Before going inside the house, Pablo has a message to those saying that she is a favorite. "That's what people always say. I don't want to call it favorite. I want to call it love. Kumbaga hindi ako paborito, mahal lang ako kasi mabuti akong tao, kaya kong sabihin 'yon. If you're watching nga, I hope manood kayo ng 'PBB 2.0' promise papangitiin ko kayo," Sofia said.

Last September it was announced that the popular Bahay ni Kuya is opening its door again for the 20th year of "PBB," and the spotlight will shine on the new generation of young stars. The new edition of "PBB" follows the successful and historic "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," which first brought together Kapamilya and Kapuso celebrities. It debuted last March and concluded last July, with the final duo of Mika Salamanca (Sparkle) and Brent Manalo (Star Magic) as the winners.
