April 10 ------ Heath Jornales, who finished as Second Big Placer in the second edition of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition,” said he plans to use his earnings to express gratitude to his parents.

Jornales, son of actors Michael Ray Jornales and Jem Estrada, shared in an interview with Ogie Diaz, that his parents raised him “amazingly” and were not very strict, an upbringing that inspires him to give back. One way he plans to do so is by helping his mother build a Christian church. “Kasi, my mom and I, we are Christian po. My mom has a church, pero wala po talaga siyang building. They rent an area sa school. Gusto ko pong tulungan ‘yung mommy ko rin na magpatayo ng church. Bibili [ako] ng lupa tapos magtatayo po ako ng church para doon po mag-church yung mga ka-churchmates po namin for free,” he said in response to a question on what he plans to do when he saves up money from his showbiz career.

Jornales also hoped to put up a gym for his dad, given his background in taekwondo. He also shared that his family used to own a gym, but it was shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Dati, meron po kaming gym. Pangalan ay MRJ Camp. Doon po ako nagpo-promote before with the team I had. We had a group of students ng taekwondo tapos nagpo-promote kami ng belt. Pero since the pandemic, he had to shut it down kasi wala nang gaanong pumupunta sa gym dahil bawal na lumabas ang mga tao,” he recalled.

When asked how he’s handling his newfound fame so far, Jornales admitted that while he’s “a bit” pressured, he would rather focus on working hard. “Ako naman po, hindi naman super pressure, just a bit. I want to meet the expectations of the people, kung sabi nila sisikat ako, gusto ko rin naman po sumikat, and be successful in this industry. I want to work hard to meet expectations,” he said.
