PBA: TNT overwhelms Magnolia to take Game 1 of q'finals series

MANILA, October 26 ------ The TNT Tropang 5G claimed a dominant win in Game 1 of their quarterfinals series, overpowering Magnolia 92-70 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
A pivotal 14-4 run to end the second quarter turned what had been a slim 29-28 lead by Magnolia into a 42-33 advantage for the Tropang 56. TNT poured it on from there, out-scoring the Hotshots 26-18 in the third quarter and pulling away by as many as 25 points.
The result snapped Magnolia's six-game winning streak in the 2026 PBA Governors' Cup, as they shot just 37.8% from the field and had no answer for TNT's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson once he got going. The import finished with 26 points to lead the way for the Tropang 5G, while Calvin Oftana added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Roger Pogoy and Rey Nambatac each had 12 points. KJ Buffen had 18 points and nine rebounds, while Zavier Lucero had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss.
Game 2 of the best-of-five series is on Wednesday at the Ynares Antipolo.
