MANILA, October 23 ------ Work in government offices on Thursday, Oct. 31, will only be up to 12 noon to give employees ample time to prepare for All Saints' Day, Malacañang announced.
Suspension of classes in private schools and work in private companies is meanwhile left to the discretion of their respective heads or employers, Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin said in memorandum circular no. 67 issued on October 22. The Palace, however, clarified that agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, as well as disaster response, would continue with their operations.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier declared Nov. 1 and 2 as special non-working holidays to allow Filipinos to commemorate the Christian festival of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
