MANILA, Philippines, October 13 ------ Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) will launch flights on the Cebu-Laoag route. PAL said twice-weekly flights between Cebu and Laoag would start on Dec. 15. PR 2251 will depart from Cebu every Tuesday and Friday at around 7:35 a.m. while PR 2252 will depart from Laoag at around 10:25 a.m.
“We welcome the holiday season with a historic air link between Cebu and Laoag City,” Stanley Ng, PAL president and chief operating officer, said. ”This brand-new service will help us open up a new market for tourist and business travelers by connecting the Ilocos region via non-stop flights to Cebu and beyond other cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.”
Ng said PAL plans to offer more flights to promote tourism and help spur economic development. ”We expect to mount more flights in and out of our Mactan-Cebu hub in the coming months,” he added.
PAL operated two special flights between Cebu and Laoag in May 2023 in support of the Himala Sa Buhangin Festival in Laoag.
