PAL adjusts some flights due to system maintenance

Manila, May 3 ----- Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has made adjustments on some of its flights scheduled on May 2 and 3 due to the corrective maintenance at the Air Traffic Management Center.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) earlier announced that the maintenance activity would occur from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. on May 3 and from midnight to 6 a.m. on May 17. In an advisory on Tuesday, PAL said flight PR215 Manila - Port Moresby on May 2 will depart an hour early. On the other hand, PR732 Manila - Bangkok will be delayed by 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The PR733 Bangkok - Manila flight will be delayed by 2 hours and 40 minutes. The adjustments are meant to give way to the Philippine radar system's scheduled maintenance, PAL said.

Affected passengers may opt to rebook to the next available flight, or rebook or reroute their tickets to another flight within 60 days from the original schedule. They could also convert their tickets to travel credits or refund the ticket without penalties, excluding the ticketing service charge. Passengers are advised to check their flight status on the PAL website as this is updated in real-time, according to PAL. CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio earlier confirmed that there would be no flights during maintenance periods. It is up to the airline companies to decide whether they will cancel or delay their scheduled flights.

The scheduled maintenance will mainly affect flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and the 42 CAAP-operated commercial airports.
