MANILA, February 28 ------ The Philippine Navy said it has monitored some 50 Chinese ships in the West Philippine Sea. There were two CCG vessels and four Chinese fishing boats monitored in Ayungin Shoal, he added.
Trinidad also said the Navy has monitored one People’s Liberation Army Navy vessel, one CCG vessel and 16 Chinese fishing boats near Pagasa Island. In addition, two Chinese fishing boats were spotted in Parola while nine more were seen in Panatag. “None were monitored in Likas, Lawak, Rizal Reef and Kota as of yesterday,” the Navy official said.
Trinidad did not give details on foreign vessels monitored in Sabina Shoal.
