MANILA, April 19 ------ Orange and Lemons frontman Clementine describes the band’s biggest hit “Pinoy Ako,” as an important chapter in their history. “It’s part of history, and an essential part of it,” he said, recalling how the song’s popularity, especially after being used in Pinoy Big Brother, catapulted the group from Bulacan into sudden fame and fortune.

The success, however, came with challenges. Clementine admitted that the band struggled to cope with the pressures of show business, which eventually led to their disbandment in 2007. “We were derailed from our goals and forgot to look back. That’s what showbiz did to Orange and Lemons,” he explained.

Despite the setbacks, he emphasized that the experience was a valuable lesson. “We don’t regret it because it was an expensive lesson in life. It made us mature and taught us that music is also a business,” he said. The band also shared that they are currently more conscious of preserving their legacy. Clementine noted that the band now takes full control of their songwriting and owns all their masters, ensuring that their creative work remains protected.
