Oil prices expected to jump this week

Metro Manila, January 23 ------ Heads up motorists! Fuel pump prices are projected to increase next week.

Unioil forecast that diesel prices would increase from P2.30 to P2.50 per liter, while gasoline would go up from P2.90 to P3.10 per liter. This is expected to take effect in the week of Jan. 24 to Jan. 30. Gasoline and diesel prices also went up last week by P0.95, and P0.50, respectively. Meanwhile, kerosene prices fell P0.15.

In its price monitor updated Jan. 17, the Department of Energy (DOE) said the total adjustments in 2023 stood at a net increase of P3.10/liter for gasoline, P0.80/liter for kerosene; and diesel at a net decrease of P0.20/liter.
