MANILA, Philippines, April 4 ----- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has extended the suspension of the number coding scheme during the Holy Week.
In an advisory yesterday, the MMDA said the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program would be lifted beginning tomorrow. Earlier, the MMDA announced the suspension of the number coding scheme from April 6 to April 10, which was declared a non-working holiday in lieu of the observance of the Day of Valor, which falls on Easter Sunday.
“This is to give motorists and commuters more time to travel to the provinces for the Holy Week,” the MMDA said.
Malacañang had announced that work in government offices on April 5 would be until noon only. The MMDA also suspended the operations of the Pasig River ferry service starting tomorrow. The ferry service will resume on April 11.
