November 30 ------ Catriona Gray ushered in the holidays with “sad girl” vibes as she released her newest track, “Every Christmas.” The beauty queen-singer released the song as well as its official music video.

“Lights just don’t glow like they used to / All is the same except for me and you / Could feel it getting colder since summer or fall / Didn’t think that we would lose it all,” the song begins. “Smiling ’cause that’s what I’m used to / Hiding the cracks when they start to break through / Used to dream we’d be together for every December / But forever wasn’t us to share,” it continues.

In an earlier Instagram post, Gray shared, “I had so much fun creating this song, and I hope you all love my #SadGirlChristmas.” Aside from her new single, Gray is also behind the songs “We’re in This Together” (2018) and “Love Language” (2021). “I wanted to pursue it wholeheartedly when I was 18, but ended up not doing it, because I became the family breadwinner,” Gray said of pursuing a music career in a 2021 interview. “I have to put that dream on the back burner.” “I want my work to have a purpose … And music has repositioned itself as one of my priorities because it keeps me sane in a time where we all feel bombarded. It’s a way to decompress,” she added.
