September 25 ------ With the 2025 Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant set for November, the national organization announced the appointment of a 2024 queen to compete in the October staging of the 2025 Miss Tourism International competition.

In a social media post, the second most enduring national pageant in the country announced that reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas-Luzon Christine Eds Enero has been chosen to represent the country in Malaysia. “Her dedication to the values of tourism, culture, and advocacy aligns perfectly with the mission of the Miss Tourism International pageant,” pageant organization president Cory Quirino said in a statement. “We have full confidence that Christine will shine brightly in this esteemed international competition,” she continued. Davao City was supposed to host the 2025 Miss Tourism International pageant, but it did not push through, and the global tilt returned to its home country for this year’s contest.

Enero now bears the tough task of posting a second consecutive win for the Philippines in the Miss Tourism International pageant, with her 2024 batchmate Liana Barrido bringing home the crown from last year’s competition. The country scored back-to-back wins in 2012 and 2013 courtesy of the late Rizzini Alexis Gomez and Angeli Dione Gomez. Poland was the first country to post two consecutive victories, in 1998 and 1999.

“Christine will begin her preparations for the pageant, which will include cultural exchanges, tourism advocacy initiatives, and international media appearances,” the national pageant organization said. “Mutya ng Pilipinas will provide her with full support as she embarks on this exciting journey toward representing the Philippines on the world stage,” it continued.
