July 23 ------ Miss Philippines Earth 2025 has awarded its Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to three standout candidates based on media votes ahead of the pageant’s coronation night in August. Despite the inclement weather, the media presentation of the 36 delegates for this year’s Miss Philippines Earth carried on at a hotel in Pasay City. The event’s highlight was the awarding moment of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists voted by members of the press based on the candidates who “made a lasting impression” on them.
Angel Rose Tambal of La Paz – Leyte, took home the Gold medal, Austhrie Sanchez of Vigan – Ilocos Sur, bagged the Silver honor, and Liz Mabao of Antipolo City settled for Bronze. Tambal, whose advocacy focused on sustainable engineering and environmental education, finished in the Top 20 of Miss Universe Philippines in 2024. She stated that her experience during Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 inspired her current advocacy. Sanchez, on the other hand, emphasized her focus on sustainable ecotourism. The biology graduate indicated that being raised by a single mother as an only child made her “appreciate the beauty of life, the wonders of nature, and her passion for education.”
Meanwhile, Mabao, known as the Miss Scuba Philippines 2019 winner, reiterated her advocacy on the microbiomes of the ecosystem. She previously joined Mutya ng Pilipinas in 2022 and Binibining Pilipinas in 2024.
Now in its 25th edition, today’s Miss Philippines Earth media gathering opened with the candidates heating up the stage in their metallic silver swimsuits as they introduced themselves, their advocacies, and the cities they represent. Ten delegates were awarded with a special Hanna Beauty award, which includes representatives from Malaybalay City, Pandi Bulacan, Bacoor City, Talakad Bukidnon, La Paz Leyte, Las Piñas City, Zamboanga City West Coast, Naujan Oriental Mindoro, Antipolo City, and Vigan Ilocos Sur.
The event was hosted by Miss Philippines Earth 2024 Irha Mel Alfeche, Miss Philippines Air 2024 Feliz Clareianne Thea Recentes, Miss Philippines Water 2024 Samantha Dana Bug-os, and Miss Philippines Fire 2024 Kia Labiano. Alfeche, who is expected to crown her successor on August 9, was the lone Asian woman to make it to the Top 12 of the Miss Earth 2024 international pageant.
