June 29 ------ Miss Grand International org to put 4Bs at forefront in search of queens. The Miss Grand International (MGI) organization has announced that it will spotlight its 4B (Beauty, Body, Brains, and Business) framework at the forefront of its annual search. The Thai-based pageant organization made the announcement on its social media platforms on Thursday, June 26, while stating that its objective is to “shape global ambassadors.”
“Miss Grand International: the one and only. More than a pageant — MGI is a global entertainment powerhouse. With the concept, ‘entertaining the world with beauty,’ we turn every stage into a show, every queen into a star, and beauty into a global soft power,” its statement read.
The MGI organization then stated that it will champion the 4B’s framework in hopes of “shaping women into powerful global ambassadors.” However, it didn’t state the reason behind its apparent shift. “The 4B concept of Miss Grand International at MGI, we go beyond beauty. Our 4B framework — Beauty, Body, Brains, and Business — shapes women into powerful global ambassadors,” it said. “We don’t just crown winners — we create world changers,” it added.
Prior to the MGI org’s announcement, the MGI organization has always championed the need to “stop violence” and promote peace, with the speech portion being one of the segments in deciding who will be crowned as its titleholder. “Each year, we use our stage to be a voice for peace — raising awareness and inspiring change. During the Final Show, the Top 10 finalists deliver powerful speeches that call for unity, love, and an end to conflict. These heartfelt messages are broadcast globally, resonating with millions and reinforcing our belief that beauty must stand for something greater,” its official website read.
While its head, Nawat Itsaragrisil, always spoke of the 4B framework as a crucial framework in crowning a new queen, he seemingly hinted that it will now be a priority in its annual search during the homecoming media con of reigning titleholder CJ Opiaza. “[With] Miss Grand International, we’re concerned about the 4Bs: body, beauty, brain, and business. [CJ] is not just a beauty queen. She can do whatever she likes [such as] being the host, model, or an actress. This is the most important. The Miss Grand International [pageant], we look for a beauty queen that is more than her work, a good photo (sic), and can speak, but I want the real one,” he said earlier this month.
