May 15 ------ Filipino-Canadian vlogger and social media personality Mikey Bustos, also known as AntsCanada, was awarded at the recently concluded 30th Annual Webby Awards in New York City. He shared a glimpse of how the prestigious awards night went as he accepted two awards - Best Editing (People’s Voice Winner) and Best Series (Webby Winner).
The Webby Awards is one of the leading international award-giving bodies that honors excellence on the internet. They were established in 1996 and are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), which comprises leading internet experts, business figures, visionaries, and other professionals.
Mikey was given only five words to share during his acceptance speech, which he took very seriously and creatively. Making sure his award-winning channel was mentioned, the YouTube vlogger made every word in his speech count. He placed his hands on his forehead as he moved them up and down before saying what it actually meant. “That’s ant for thank you,” he shared. The crowd erupted in laughter and cheers as he exited the stage with his awards.
