February 21 ------ Michelle Yeoh received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California. The actress was honored with a star in the Motion Pictures category during the ceremony. Filmmakers Jon M. Chu and Ang Lee were present at the event, which was hosted by Jenelle Riley.
In her speech, which was streamed on the Walk of Fame YouTube channel, the Oscar-winning actress reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry. "The path from Malaysia to here wasn't a straight line. There were moments when I wondered if I belonged," she recalled. "But I was fortunate, fortunate to be part of stories that crossed borders and languages. Stories that reminded us how deeply connected we all are."
Michelle dedicated the recognition to the many people who supported her throughout her career. "The star may carry one name, but it represents so many people who made this journey possible," she remarked.
Michelle also hoped that her journey would inspire people to follow their dreams regardless of the circumstances. "I hope it also reminds someone, somewhere, that it is possible. That where you begin does not define where you can go because once I was a little girl from Malaysia, sitting under the vast sky, looking up at a single steady star and daring to believe I could follow it," she remarked.
