MANLA, May 23 ------ Kapamilya comedian-host Melai Cantiveros is the new honorary ambassador for Korea Family Tourism in the Philippines for the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
Cantiveros will serve her duties from May 21, 2024, to May 20, 2025. As the honorary ambassador for family tourism, Cantiveros will be the "celebrity representative for the Korea Tourism Organization’s family tourism promotional campaigns, programs, and events in the Philippines." "Part of her duties and activities is visiting Korea with her family and sharing her experiences through her social media accounts. She will promote Korea’s attractive family tourist attractions at various events arranged by KTO and other Korean government agencies. She is also set to appear in select big campaigns and events of KTO such as familiarization tour and travel fair within one year from the date of her appointment," KTO said in a release.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Cantiveros uploaded photos and a video of her ceremonial appointment as tourism ambassador of Korea to the Philippines. She was accompanied by her family. (If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have been chosen to be the ambassador and ambassadress of KTO. This opportunity is for you. We will show you our happiness here in Korea. I just couldn't update you because there was an emergency, and thank you for your prayers. Our baby Steya's health is now okay... Thank you for your support. We love you so much.)
Just last year, Cantiveros starred in the movie "Ma'am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul," which was shot in South Korea. Aside from shooting the movie, Cantiveros together with husband Jason Francisco and their children also enjoyed exploring the Asian country.
